Hearing Associates

Hearing Associates is an audiology practice with clinics in northern Iowa and southern Minnesota. The company was established in 1987 by Gary Dockum. Hearing Associates provides quality audiology services in a personalized environment to help patients find the best solutions for their hearing loss.

The practice offers hearing tests, hearing loss treatment, hearing aids and assistive listening devices, balance testing, aural rehabilitation and custom hearing protection.

MadAveGroup has worked with Hearing Associates since 2012, with TouchStone Digital managing their digital marketing program. The results of this case study are from May 2022 to April 2023.


Hearing Associates wanted to increase digital traffic by drawing more visitors to their website. They wanted to improve hearing aid sales while serving as an educational resource for their patients.

TouchStone Digital designed a comprehensive digital marketing plan to address the client’s various needs.

Our content creation team wrote two blog posts per month, which proved effective at attracting users. As a result, more than one-third of local web traffic originated from blog articles.

Our SEO efforts and implementation supported better search visibility and rankings for targeted keywords.

We also created a paid search campaign to generate leads for Hearing Associates. Campaigns were structured into high- and low-funnel categories. The high-funnel target audience received information about hearing aid brands and styles. The low-funnel audience was presented with ads about hearing aid accessories, batteries and new styles that might benefit their needs.

The campaigns were frequently optimized to improve ad quality scores and generate additional impressions and conversions.

Our team also published monthly promotional emails and quarterly digital newsletters. The team utilized A/B testing to refine email marketing tactics and provide a quality user experience based on the results.
