Rebuilding a Website to Reflect a Company’s Growth

Client

Gordon Lumber

Gordon Lumber started as a traditional lumberyard in Oak Harbor, Ohio. The company provided builders and contractors with quality lumber and supplies for more than 150 years but shifted its operations to engineered building solutions. The Gordon team provides prefabricated building components, products, technology and installation services for residential and commercial contractors and homeowners.

Problem

The client wanted to revamp their website to reflect the company’s shift from a traditional lumberyard to a residential and commercial building company centered around technology-based solutions. They also wanted to provide potential clients with a place to submit digital blueprints for an estimate.

Services Provided

  • Headless CMS web build
  • Website maintenance
  • Website hosting
  • Web animation
  • AWS/API implementation
  • ADA compliance

Solution

The TouchStone Digital team rebuilt Gordon Lumber’s website to better align with the company’s emphasis on building technology. The previous site design did not feature a quality user experience, and the client wanted the site to be more sophisticated than before.

Our web developers and designers crafted a website for Gordon Lumber using a headless content management system (CMS) which allowed for seamless integration of front- and back-end development. The new website was visually appealing while the back-end was optimized for Google and other search engine crawlers.

Headless CMS also improved user experience on desktop and mobile devices. The back-end development boosted page speed and rendering which reduced load times.

We designed a webpage to receive and house large files and blueprints to streamline the estimate process for the client. Much of the content was written from scratch to reflect the origins of the company while placing more emphasis on its technological building solutions and services.

The client has seen a significant increase in conversions, calls and leads since the website’s launch in fall 2022.
